関係詞の中でもwhereとwhichの違いを教えてほしいです。
例えば
France is the country ( ) I was born.
の場合、()に入る関係詞はどっちになりますかね？
使い方・見分け方を教えてほしいです。

( )に入るのは関係代名詞whichか関係副詞whereのどちらかについては、
I was bornの後にthe countryが続くかどうかです。
I was born the countryとは言わず、間にinが必要ですよね。
ですのでFrance is the country where I was born.が正しいことになります。
またはFrance is the country in which I was born.でも正しいです。
一方で
This is the house ( ) I bought.
の場合、I bought the houseといえるので、
This is the house which I bought.が正しくなります。

関係代名詞whichを使うことは可能ですが、前置詞inをなくしてはいけません。
関係副詞whereならin whichと同じ意味を表すので、inは必要ありません。

またはFrance is the country in which I was born.
が正解です。
France is the country ( ) I was born.
この文章をFrance is the country. とI was born. に分けてみましょう。
どちらの文も違和感がないため、関係副詞のwhereを使います。
関係代名詞を使うならin whichとなります。
これがFrance is the country ( ) I was born in だった場合。
France is the country. とI was born in. に分けると後者の文の目的語がなくて不自然ですよね。
よって( )には関係代名詞whichが入ります。
